It is a known fact that everything we do and say will be mimicked by our children and their children. We dance and our children will dance in their own manner. We eat healthy and our children will eat healthy forever. We steal and hurt people as a group or by one and our children identify that as ganging up on innocent defenseless others. And they see that as being OK.
We drink alcohol and use drugs and the mind altering effects of both leads to the ultimate consequence, DEATH and/or living the rest of our miserable lives in PRISON. Our children watch with curious eyes and learn and repeat the same. We can't claim ignorance because it is no secret that we educate our children by what we do and say everyday. So practically since the beginning of conscious understanding of ourselves, we have damaged our family from generation to generation. This same pattern continues Day after Day, Week after Week, Month after Month and Year after Year. Innocent Men, Women and Children are killed every two to three minutes by young people who attend high school, college and dropouts.
Of course there are no limits to the age of aggression but the teenagers are far more dangerous then any other drivers anywhere. Hence; the number one killer of young people is being impaired by Drugs and Alcohol and driving a vehicle. For this reason, I have dedicated the past twelve years to alerting and educating our children on the dangers of continuing the life of a lethal generation.
I have put together a PowerPoint, entertaining and heart felt Guest Speaking lecture that includes pictures, real stories, poems, music and videos. This lecture has touched the hearts of many teenagers and college students to where they laugh and come to tears. In some classes, counselors and parents have attended and received the same feelings as the students. Some quote: "You can hear the pin drop because the students are completely captivated by the way Ennis presents this most powerful message."
In the message, I show graphic evidence of preventable injuries and death from vehicle collisions, trauma and burns. This graphic presentation is needed because through the years of speaking to students, I have been told by them that they cannot be harmed. They tell me they can walk a straight line without falling after drinking a case of alcohol. And that they can be ejected from a vehicle and get up and walk away, unharmed. So I bring the truth in pictures and video and I hold nothing back. For twelve years I have provided my services to High Schools, Colleges and Businesses.
The student count is in the hundreds of thousands, not to mention the adults at the businesses. I am requested to return semester after semester, Prom after Prom, Holiday after Holiday and for Pre graduation. As a twenty-seven (27) year Paramedic handling 911 calls, I have responded to countless vehicle collisions involving drugs and alcohol, domestic violence, recreational drug induced comas, drug overdoses and the list goes on. My true stories are heart felt and very close to home.
The listener visualizes what they hear and coincide their on experiences to it. My experience with death and dying is not limited to just my patients. My daughter was fourteen when she died. I was at work and had just saved the life of a baby who wasn't breathing. I will not relive the circumstances of her death on this web site but I do bring it up in my lecture. I have been told that I have a speaking ability unlike no other. Teachers and Counselors say that I truly have the skill to pull your inner self into a live attention grabbing, hilarious but very serious conversation, one that will never be forgotten. I am honest and every story is true and relates to actual 911 situations.
I will also answer questions relating to the lecture including First Aid and careers in EMS. What a concept. A real twenty-seven (27) year Paramedic, displaying real evidence and real stories to an audience that believe they cannot be hurt. I can also assist the Court System in the same manner by educating convicted abusers of Drugs and Alcohol. I will give them a clear understanding of the consequences of repeating their crime. |
